Love letters, part three

I have written previously about an interaction I had with an individual many years ago and the power of the written word. The effects that words and messages of love had on my recovery from my depressive state of chaos back then.

Words truly do contain the power to manifest positivity in one’s self and outward to others.

On my desk, among the many beading and crafting projects, there is a notebook that contains all the love letters I have written to the person I am currently involved with online. On my computer and on my phone there is a folder that contains all the screenshots of the ones he has written to me. He apparently is keeping a notebook as well.

The first time he sent me a screenshot of the handwritten note, I was a little overwhelmed by it. I remember my face got all flushed and my heartbeat was a little faster. He had questioned why and I let him know it was the first love note that I had received, ever in my lifetime. Even during the 17 year marriage, I never received any from my then husband.

This back and forth of these handwritten notes has been ongoing for quite a while.

Last night, I was watching the movie “Sex and the City” and there was a scene about this book of love letters the main character was reading to her love interest. I looked it up this morning and found out the book never existed but it was eventually created because of the interest from the movie and television series fans.

This morning I woke up inspired once more to write a poem about these handwritten notes.
